John F Hunt Power recently took on New Era Energy in the inaugural Suppliers Premier Cup at Redbridge Football Club for a night of football, fun, and fundraising. The event brought together colleagues, supporters, and sponsors to raise vital funds for Mind Charity and Phoenix Heroes CIC, with all proceeds going to these two incredible causes.

The match resulted from a fantastic collaboration spearheaded by Rocky Sivell (Regional Operations Director, John F Hunt Power), Alan White, and Brett Jacobs, who worked tirelessly to bring the event to life in just a few short weeks. Their dedication was evident from the start, and it all paid off on game day as the excitement reached fever pitch.

The atmosphere was buzzing as the teams hit the newly laid 3G pitch in their branded kits. Both sides played with passion and heart, battling fiercely throughout the match. New Era Energy ultimately claimed a well-deserved victory with an 8-1 scoreline, but the spirit of the evening went far beyond the result on the scoreboard.

Supporters in the stands enjoyed classic matchday burgers and hotdogs while cheering on the teams, contributing to a real sense of community. This event was about more than football—it was about coming together for a shared purpose: supporting veterans and mental health initiatives through Phoenix Heroes and Mind.

After the final whistle, the excitement continued with a lively charity auction. The auction raised additional funds for the two charities, led by David Hunt (Managing Director, John F Hunt Power), pushing the total to over £5,000. The energy in the room was palpable as bids rolled in for an array of fantastic prizes and sports memorabilia.

Reflecting on the event, Rocky Sivell remarked:

“This match was more than just a game – it was a celebration of teamwork, community, and giving back. We’re so proud to have played a part in supporting these two incredible charities and making a real difference.”

John F Hunt Power and New Era Energy are already looking forward to next year’s Suppliers Premier Cup, which they plan to make bigger and better. The friendships forged on and off the pitch will undoubtedly lead to future collaborations, all for a great cause.

There’s still time to donate and help us continue raising funds for these worthy causes:
