We always seek ways to build smarter and greener at John F Hunt. Our recent work at 180 Piccadilly highlights this commitment, where we’ve focused on reusing steel rather than simply recycling it. Steel is one of the construction industry’s most resource-intensive materials, and by choosing reuse, we’re helping reduce waste and lower emissions.
Our Group Sustainability Manager, Tom Seath, recently spoke at the DISRUPT II event hosted by the Alliance for Sustainable Building Products (ASBP) with support from the Institute of Demolition Engineers and Cleveland Steel & Tubes Ltd. As the only enabling works contractor present, we were excited to represent our sector and share insights from our steel reuse project at 180 Piccadilly.
This event brought together industry leaders dedicated to making reclaimed steel an accessible and standard option in construction. Tom presented our progress and showed how rethinking materials can make a lasting impact. It’s one more way we’re building a sustainable future.
