Location & Overview

Francis House is a 5,300 m² freehold office building adjoining Derwent London’s existing holdings at Greencoat, Gordon House and 6-8 Greencoat Place. Derwent required the refurbishjment of 38,200 sq ft, that covered the entire building with the exception of the basement. As a specialist and licensed contractor, John F Hunt Environmental were contracted to carry out the removal of asbestos containing materials and lead paint. The largest part of the contract was the removal and disposal of asbestos thermal insulation residue on structural walls, surfaces and ceilings of the basement. This required the use of a dustless blasting system, with personnel working with airline respirators.

Work, Challenges & Solutions

Logistic organisation and liaison with our client and other trades was fundamental, as the site was situated in central London with no Parking facilities and an intense multi-contractor activity on site throughout the project.
