Location & Overview

The harbour is strategically located to serve the Oil and Gas fields of the southern North Sea and the planned Offshore Wind development off the UK East Coast. Great Yarmouth harbour offers the shortest North Sea crossing between Great Britain and continental Europe.

Work, Challenges & Solutions

We undertook the removal of fender blocks and surrounding slabs on the North Terminal outer harbour, using a combination of diamond stitch drilling, diamond track sawing and wire sawing technologies.

The weather became extremely challenging, as the site was open to the elements and often exposed to high winds and aggressive waves.

We adopted a dry cutting methodology to prevent contaminants from entering the water, whilst being overlooked by the resident Atlantic Grey Seals.
