Critical Power Supply: Data Centre Support

12th May 2015

John F Hunt Power Ltd recently completed a full turn Key 2MW package in West London, providing critical power supply to a data centre that supports three major world banking companies.

The client required 2x 1260kVA synchronised generators along with 2x 3000ltr bunded fuel tanks, both mounted on artic trailers.

The equipment was dispatched from the Grays depot and delivered to the site at the requested date & time. Each trailer was positioned next to the temporary 2MVA High Voltage Transformer ready for installation when the power would step up from 415V Low Voltage to 11KV High Voltage supply.

Positioning of the sets completed, both the John F Hunt and Site Engineers began to install and connect the LV & HV cables along with the synchronization of the 2x 1260kVa generators.

It was requested by the project manager that the site could not lose power during the running period of the job, therefore the equipment would be supporting the data centre whilst the new HV upgrade was taking place.

Since the data centre supports three major world banking companies there was definitely no room for error which added pressure to the task, however, the John F Hunt Power Team stepped up and provided the client with a safe and fault free temporary power system – Good work team!
