We’re delighted to share that John F Hunt’s Concrete Cutting Division has successfully completed the Taf Fechan Viaduct Project in Merthyr Tydfil, finishing ahead of schedule!

In collaboration with Future Valleys Construction, this ambitious project focused on strengthening and widening the historic viaduct to prepare it for the A465 expansion.

Our team executed precise cuts on 16 piers, sectioning them into 750mm and 700mm segments. The work required exceptional skill and precision to balance environmental considerations with structural requirements.

A special shoutout goes to our General Manager, Carl Waite, and all the hardworking team members who contributed to this project’s success. Their dedication and expertise have been instrumental in delivering high-quality results and exceeding expectations.

This project showcases how we’re driving forward sustainability and innovation, proving that infrastructure can be both cutting-edge and environmentally conscious.
