At John F Hunt, we continuously strive to embrace sustainable practices in all our projects. A recent example is our work at 180 Piccadilly, where we took significant steps to reuse existing materials and minimise our environmental impact.
In this project, we implemented an innovative approach by cutting out steel beams for future reuse. By repurposing these beams for temporary works, we are not only reducing waste but also conserving resources by avoiding the need for new steel procurement and manufacturing. This method highlights our dedication to sustainability and resource efficiency in construction.
As part of our ongoing commitment to sustainable practices, John F Hunt, represented by Tom Seath and Dan Sweeney, actively participate in ‘Disrupt II’, an industry round table focused on steel reuse in construction projects. This initiative brings together sustainability professionals from across the industry to share insights and collaborate on innovative solutions.
The guests at this event included Katherine Adams from Reusefully, Debbie Ward from the Alliance For Sustainable Building Products (ASBP), Howard Button from Reusefully/Disrupt II, and Asselia Katenbayeva from ASBP/Loughborough University. Their expertise and dedication to sustainability significantly contribute to advancing our collective goals.
