On the live deck (e.g. deck under
800mm construction) edge protection will be
extended to 1.8m by means of the K-
Guard additional make up panel. This will
1m provide additional protection to activities
at the perimeter such as column
construction.

On striking of the deck the edge protection will be moved back to the concrete slab
and attached to previously cast in anchors. This will be carried out whilst edge
protection is attached to the falsework removing the risk of works at height. Once edge
protection is fixed to slab, falsework edge protection will be removed. Edge protection
fixed to slab will be reduced to 1m.

Floor to soffit edge protection systems can be installed when falsework is struck (these
typically brace from floor to soffit so cannot be installed whilst falsework is in place). This
will be via client request as it will be for the benefit of follow on trades.

Dependant on risk assessment catchment
fan systems can be installed. These are
available in 2 x sizes 3m and 4.6m.
3m systems must be no more than 2 x floors
below working deck.
4.6m system can be 3 x floors below working
deck. This is to allow for the predicted
distance an item will project from the deck
if dropped. Fans will be jumped with the
progressing floors.
